This external cooling for Raspberry Pi 5 is required when the Raspberry Pi is subjected to high-performance applications such as machine learning or artificial intelligence applications. The high computing power causes the Raspberry Pi to get very hot, which can affect performance.
The external cooler offers an optimal solution here. The external cooler is simply attached to the case using a heat-conducting adhesive pad. Then the cooler only needs to be connected to a 5-volt USB port (not to the USB ports on the Raspberry! Please use an external power supply or power bank).
The external cooler has two modes, P1 for normal cooling performance and P2 for high cooling performance.
The cooler is held magnetically on the heat sink/case (not included) of the Raspberry PI. When the cooler is at full power, the temperature of the Raspberry is reduced by about 10-20 degrees Celsius (50- 68 Fahrenheit).
